ASHA workers take out a protest demanding increased benefits in Bidaron friday.

Accredited social health activists (ASHA) workers in Bidar joined the state wide strike that began Friday.

They took out a rally shouting slogans around the city. They submitted a list of demands to the state government and said they would not return to work till they were fulfilled.

Their demands include release of wage arrears, release of matching incentives from the state government, online payment of wages, social security, uniforms and other benefits, mentoring by senior officers through video conferencing, coverage under life and health insurance and payment of insurance premium by the state government.

Mahesh Nadagounda, Rathnamma and other leaders were present.
