Brig. Pravin Shinde, Commandant, Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre, has said that secularism is the biggest hallmark of India. To a soldier, the uniform and his service to the nation are his religion.

In his brief address, after reviewing an attestation parade conducted for the recruits of the MLIRC at Talekar Drill Square here on Saturday, he impressed upon the rich heritage and glory of the infantry, which was one of the oldest infantry regiments of Indian army.

A total of 293 recruits of Group 2/15 were attested on the occasion. All the recruits would soon join their duty at different parts of the country in the service of the nation.

Sepoy Namdeo Sanap commanded the parade and the parade adjutant was Major Vikram Singh Kadian.
