CM assures Rs.2 crore for fourth World Ayurveda Congress.

Chief Minister B.S.Yeddyurappa on Thursday announced that the State government would release Rs.2 crore for organising the 5-day fourth World Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Expo-2010 at Palace Grounds, here commencing from December 9 to be inaugurated the next day.

The mega event is jointly organised by the Department of Ayush in the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the state government and Vijnana Bharati.

Mr. Yeddyurappa said that over 4,000 delegates including 300 from 34 countries outside India are attending the Congress and 1,250 papers would be presented at the 60 scientific sessions on various issues of research in Ayurveda such as Panchakarma, Kshar karma, growing forests for raising medicinal plants and on mental health in six plenary sessions.

The Medical Education Minister S.A.Ramadas said that a buyer-seller meeting where 50 foreign buyers had been invited on behalf of the Government of India`s Pharmexcil and hoped that it would boost exports from Ayurvedic industry.

The National Medicinal Plants Board would present papers on medicinal trees and rare and endangered medicinal plants. The theme of the Congress is : Ayurveda for all.
