‘Just a comment on Twitter'

October 07, 2011 02:44 am | Updated August 02, 2016 07:22 am IST - NEW DELHI:

Author Chetan Bhagat has had his share of controversies and their timing has been questionable. The latest was his rather caustic remark on Infosys' Chairman Emeritus N.R. Narayana Murthy's comment on the diminishing quality of IIT students.

“I just said that I didn't like his choice of words. I found them very high-handed. May be my choice of words was also not right and I need to be careful but I don't know why the media takes me so seriously. It was just a comment made on Twitter. Was it a story worth making to front page? Also, why are we so obsessed with IITs? 98 percent of India doesn't get to study in IITs. We should think about them,” said the IIT-IIM alumnus, on Thursday.
