The Central Bureau of Investigation has booked Upendra Rai, former CEO and editor-in-chief of Tehalka and Sahara Media, his associate Prasun Roy and others on allegations of using false information to gain access to security sensitive areas, including airports, and indulging in dubious financial transactions.

“The CBI has registered a case against Mr. Rai, Prasun Roy, CSO of Air One Aviation Private Limited, the company and unknown public servants on a range of charges, including use of false information to get access to highly sensitive areas of national importance such as airports in India,” said an official.

The agency is conducting searches at eight locations in Delhi, Noida, Lucknow and Mumbai on the premises of those involved. “Certain persons related to the case are being examined,” said the official.
