Nunna police arrested a youth who was allegedly caught molesting a six-year old girl in the neighbourhood of Vambay Colony under Nunna police station limits late on Sunday night.

The youth, a daily wage worker U. Simhachalam, found the girl, daughter of a daily wage worker, playing outside her relative’s place and reportedly lured her with chocolates. Later he took her to the staircase of a building in the housing colony and allegedly attempted to disrobe her, police said. Alert neighbours raised an alarm and informed police after which he fled. Police, who launched a manhunt for the accused, had arrested him. He was booked under Section 12 of POCSO Act and Section 354(b) of IPC and would be produced before a court.
