A two-year-old toddler was rescued on Wednesday, 12 hours after he fell into a deep borewell in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team pulled out the boy by digging a parallel pit before ensuring the boy won't slip down further.

The borewell — dug for drinking water purpose — had no lid and fence around it and was reportedly not in use for over a year.
