Shortage of sand and non-availability of work reportedly forced two construction workers to committed suicide in Guntur district on Saturday.
They were identified as G. Nagaraju of Tadepalli and A. Ravi of Ponnur.
Unable to cope with the financial problems as a consequence of loss of livelihood, Nagaraju, a mason, hanged himself at his house and Ravi consumed pesticide.
Three construction workers – Naga Brahmaji, Nagul Meera and Venkatesh – of different mandals in the district had committed suicide in the last few days. Those having suicidal tendency may call the helpline ‘100’ for free counselling.
