The supporters of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) staged a demonstration at Visweswaraya Circle here on Saturday, protesting against the TRS which was opposing the renaming of the domestic airport terminal in Hyderabad after NTR.

TDP district president Somisetty Venkateswarlu said that it was unfortunate that the TRS was looking at NTR as a leader from Andhra region.

“He (NTR) was a national leader and a stalwart who was instrumental in taking the Telugu pride to national level,” he said.

Claiming that Telangana was put on the path of progress only during the tenure of NTR as Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh, he said that Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao should not forget that NTR was his godfather.

Mr. Venkateswarlu said that if KCR continued with such attitude, he would be punished by the people of Telangana.
