TDP invites KCR for swearing in of Naidu

Published - June 03, 2014 11:24 pm IST - Hyderabad:

In a politically correct move, the Telugu Desam Party extended a formal invitation to the Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, to attend the swearing in of his Andhra Pradesh counterpart, N. Chandrabau Naidu, on June 8.

A delegation comprising Telangana TDP president, L. Ramana and legislators Teegala Krishna Reddy, G. Sayanna and T. Srinivas Yadav called on Mr. Rao at Secretariat on Tuesday and extended invitation from Mr. Naidu. The latter also telephoned the TRS leader and invited him to the swearing in programme, it is said.

It might be recalled that Mr. Naidu did not attend the Telangana CM’s swearing in programme the other day stating that he was sent a routine invitation and not personally called.

“None of us was invited for Mr. Rao’s swearing in programme yesterday,” Mr. Ramana told presspersons and said they congratulated the new Chief Minister and extended the party’s support to his government. They also urged Mr. Rao to pay attention to the worsening power problem in Hyderabad and ensure proper seed distribution during the monsoon season.
