Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has announced that Rs 100 crore will be allocated for the development of the Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy temple in Bhadrachalam in the current financial year.

An integrated development plan was on the anvil to develop Bhadrachalam, the celestial abode of Lord Rama, with hoary past into a major pilgrim centre, he said.

Talking to mediapersons after attending Sri Sitarama Kalyana Mahotsavam in Bhadrachalam on Friday afternoon, he said the funds would be utilised to develop the historic shrine and improve amenities like vehicle parking in the famous temple town.

A comprehensive blueprint would be prepared soon in consultation with Chinna Jeeyar Swamy to ensure the development of Bhadrachalam shrine, Jatayu Mandapam near the temple town and Parnashala in Dummugudem mandal.

Emphasising the need for mutual cooperation between both the Telugu States – Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in the matters pertaining to sharing of Godavari waters, he said, “I have made our government’s resolve clear in this regard by making a statement in the Assembly recently.”
