District Educational Officer S. Abraham on Sunday released the publicity poster for the district-level celebrations of ‘World Environment Day’ to be organised by the National Green Corps (NGC), Andhra Pradesh, for one week from May 31.
Speaking on the occasion, he called upon parents and teachers to encourage children to take part in the various competitions to be conducted by the NGC as part of the celebrations.
Competitions
District coordinator of the NGC Kesari Srinivasa Rao said that theme given by the United Nations for 2018 was ‘Beat the Plastic Pollution’ and competitions in drawing, essay writing and elocution would be conducted on the same. They would be held at St. Anthony’s School near Bhanu Gudi Junction in the city on June 1. The prizes would be presented to the winners at a function on June 5, he said.
