Portal launched

‘It will ensure transparency in utilisation of funds’

Intent on ensuring that every rupee earmarked under Scheduled Tribes Sub Plan spent judiciously for the uplift of tribals, Minister for Social and Tribal Welfare Ravela Kishore Babu launched a web portal here on Wednesday.

The portalwww.aptribes.gov.indeveloped in coordination with NIC will place the entire data pertaining to all programmes and schemes in the public domain. The portal is linked to the web portals of each of seven ITDAs in the State and to the Chief Minister’s core dashboard for directly scrutinising the functioning of the ITDAs and the tribal welfare department.

With Rs.2,000 crore earmarked under the STSP and 41 departments allocating funds to about 70 schemes designed for empowerment of tribals, the web portal will bring in transparency and efficiency, Mr. Kishore Babu said at a press conference here.
