In an oblique reference to Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has asserted that “compromise politics” will hamper the interests of the State. People would teach a befitting lesson to them, he said.

Replying to resolution moved by Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu in Assembly on Thursday to congratulate him on completing 40 years in politics, Mr. Naidu said that some people were trying to weaken him at a time when he was fighting with the Centre for Special Category Status (SCS) to the State.

Some people were questioning his sincerity and the State government’s efforts, he said, adding, “this is not the right forum to react to their comments and criticism. I shall do it in a day or two at an appropriate forum.”

The Chief Minister, going further, took jibes at the Bharatiya Janata Party indirectly. “I always followed mitra dharma and never adopted or encouraged scheming politics. It is my philosophy but not weakness.”

‘Ready for any sacrifice’

Ultimately, the truth prevails. Any political political party should not play with the truth, which was like fire. Ideologies might differ but the bottomline should be the State’s interests.

The people were wise , he reminded, adding, “I am ready for any sacrifice for achieving the set goals, including the SCS.”

‘40 years in politics a rare opportunity’

Explaining the reasons for his success in politics, Mr. Naidu said that he enjoys work.

He gave full credit to his family members and the TDP cadre, who stood by him through thick and thin.

Terming his long innings ‘a rare opportunity, ’ the Chief Minister said that he learnt discipline and commitment from party’s founder president N.T. Rama Rao.

Mr. Naidu recalled that was the first one to introduce economic reforms, and stated that technology should be used to benefit the common man.

He said that despite bifurcation losses, A.P. achieved the highest growth rate in the country.
