Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited Director (Operations) Pradosh Kumar Rath assumed the office of the Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the ‘navratna’ company here on Saturday.

After taking over, Mr. Rath said RINL-Visakhapatnam Steel Plant was well known for its commendable work and team spirit of its employees.

He exhorted the employees to continue to work with commitment to overcome the challenges and take RINL to greater heights.

The CMD post had fallen vacant following the retirement of P. Madhusudan on May 31 this year.

Many employees greeted him immediately after he took charge and some preferred to upload his photographs on social media platforms wishing him best of luck. Mr. Rath had over three decades of experience in steel-making, continuous casting process, and other areas, and played a key role in the 7.3 million- tonne expansion project.

He had joined the steel plant as a management trainee in 1983. A graduate from the Regional Engineering College (now National Institute of Technology), Warangal, Mr. Rath had also done his MBA (HR & Marketing) from Andhra University.
