Passengers of an APSRTC bus had a miraculous escape in a road accident on the Guvvalacheruvu ghat road near Rayachoti on Thursday.
According to the police, a truck reportedly lost control and rammed the bus coming from Rayachoti to Kadapa. The bus overturned and collided with a car coming in the opposite direction. As the car could barely manage to gain control, the bus pushed it further towards the end of the road. Crushed between the railing and the capsized bus, the five passengers in the car waited with bated breath for help.
Policemen immediately rushed to the spot and shifted eight of the injured bus passengers to hospital. The mangled and capsized vehicles were removed to restore traffic. It took time and effort to retrieve the passengers from the crushed car. The condition of the truck driver is stated to be critical.
