A 10th class girl Yellavula Sravani (15) committed suicide by consuming pesticide at Lingala of Penpahad mandal on Monday. According to the police, a tractor driver Mekala Vinod (20) had been stalking and harassing the victim during the past few months while she was going to school. The girl complained to her father Ramalingam, who spoke to Vinod’s parents, but the boy failed to mend his ways. Depressed over the harassment, Sravani consumed pesticide in the early hours of Monday. She died on her way to Hyderabad for treatment. The accused is absconding.
