A mango farmer, Kota Venkata Krishna Rao (41), was allegedly hacked to death in Vekanuru village in Krishna district on Tuesday.

According to Avanigadda Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Sk. Khader Basha, the accused Ande Narasimha Rao had five acres of mango orchards adjacent to Krishna Rao’s mango gardens. The accused asked the victim to give his electric motor to draw water to his orchards, but he refused to do so.

Mr. Narasimha Rao had a quarrel with Krishna Rao over the issue and in a fit of rage, the accused hacked the farmer with an axe. “Narasimha Rao is accused in two other cases and is facing trial. Avanigadda police launched a hunt to nab the accused,” the DSP added.
