Former Congress Minister Manugunta Mahidhar Reddy on Wednesday joined the YSR Congress Party in the presence of its president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at Mandapeta in East Godavari district.

A native of Kandukur in Prakasam district, Mr. Reddy came to Mandapeta along with his supporters and extended his solidarity with Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Praja Sankalpa Yatra.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Mahidhar Reddy said people were yearning for a change and seeing a ray of hope in the YSRCP. Lauding the manifesto of the YSR Congress, he exuded confidence that the party would win the elections with a thumping majority. A three-time MLA, Mr. Mahidhar Reddy had served as Municipal Administration Minister in the Kiran Kumar Reddy Cabinet.

Welcoming him into the party, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said he was happy that both people and senior leaders were exuding confidence in the YSRCP.

Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy began his padayatra at Rayavaram village of Mandapeta mandal and proceeded towards Komaripalem, Tossipudi, and Pandalapaka before halting for the night at Ulapalli of Bikkavolu mandal.
