Kapu reservation: don’t believe Naidu, Mudragada tells Pawan

Former Minister says Telugu Desam govt. out to malign their stir

The former Minister and Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham in an open letter to Jana Sena Party leader and actor Pawan Kalyan advised him not to believe Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on the Kapu reservation issue.

He said the Chief Minister was dithering on his promise of including them in the BC list, forcing them to resort to agitation.

He recalled that Minister Atchannaidu, TDP party president Kala Venkatrao and others visited Kirlampudi on February 8 last and promised to get the report on the status of the community and the BCs within seven months.

It had been a long wait and the government had started abusing, threatening and cheating the community. He also said the TDP government was making efforts to malign the agitation through false propaganda that the agitation was backed by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and even Donald Trump.

Even after three years, the government was not in a mood to get the report but completed the pulse survey.

“We are feeling ashamed of the lies being spread by the government. But I request you to go through the attached newspaper cuttings,” Mr. Padmanabham said. He asked Mr. Pawan not to join hands with the Chief Minister on any issue.
