Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is leaving for New Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday notwithstanding the heavy political activity in the national capital in the wake of the revocation of Article 370. The Chief Minister will be meeting Mr. Shah at 2.30 p.m. and Mr. Modi at 5 p.m.
Mr. Reddy is scheduled to stay overnight in Delhi and meet President Ramnath Kovind at 10.30 a.m. and Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu at 11.30 a.m on Wednesday.
Sources say the Chief Minister will be meeting the Prime Minister and the Home Minister to discuss what are still due to Andhra Pradesh with regard to the bifurcation assurances.
Special package for development of seven districts (three in North Andhra and four in Ralayaseema), revenue deficit of Andhra Pradesh, Kadapa Steel Factory, port for the State and other issues have been short-listed as the agenda for the meeting.
Mr. Reddy will also explain to Mr. Modi about the project for lifting of the Godavari water to Srisailam, reverse tendering of the Polavaram Project to save public money, reducing the burden on the public exchequer by reviewing the Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
