Jagan to launch deeksha today

October 07, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:53 am IST - GUNTUR:

YSRC president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy will begin his ‘Deeksha’, demanding separate category status, on Nallapadu Road here on Wednesday.

Mr. Reddy is expected to reach the venue by road around 10 a.m. Though the local YSRC leaders have left no stone unturned to make the Deeksha a huge success, concerns over the timing of the launch of the indefinite fast, just days before the foundation stone laying ceremony for Amaravati, remain. The build-up to the fast, originally scheduled for September 26, has been massive, with police refusing permission, citing traffic hassles.

Meanwhile, the TDP attacked Jagan for launching the indefinite fast, at a time when people’s expectations have been high on the proposed capital.

Meanwhile, local YSRC leaders have identified a two-acre site on Nallapadu Road, which could be reached through Chuttugunta centre. Those coming from Narsaraopet will have to take the road leading to the Agricultural Market Yard.

YSRC chief expected to reach venue by road around 10 a.m.
