TTD Chairman Chadalawada Krishnamurthy on Monday termed Amaravati as the well deserving capital for the Telugus.

While the shift of the Telugus’ capital from Madras to Kurnool and later to Hyderabad was marked by misgivings, the present capital, he hoped, will be permanent in nature.

The holy and historical place of Amaravati, situated on the banks of a perennial river, will augur well for the state.

As the modern ‘Gateway of India’, Andhra Pradesh will soon overtake all the southern states in terms of development, he hoped, indicating that the new capital will take shape sooner than expected, with a dynamic Chief Minister at the helm.
