Two married daily labourers, said to be having an illicit affair, ended their lives by consuming poison in a forest location near Srikalahasti on Saturday night. Their bodies were found on Sunday morning.
Srikalahasti II-Town police said that Govindaiah (46) and Bujjamma (40), belonging to ST community, were residents of Rajiv Nagar Colony. Though married, both were in love with each other for the last five years. They continued their affairs, despite several warnings by their spouses and relatives.
In this backdrop, the duo resorted to the extreme step. They were seen heading towards Panasakona forest on Saturday night.
Some goat rearers found their bodies in the forest on Sunday morning and alerted the police. Police sent the bodies for autopsy.
