Leader of Opposition in the Telangana Legislative Assembly K. Jana Reddy on Tuesday categorically stated that he had nothing to say by way of a reply to the caustic comment of the Telugu Desam’s Deputy Leader in the Assembly A. Revanth Reddy.

Mr. Revanth Reddy was said to have earlier told nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson that Mr. Jana Reddy, whom he claimed to be a relative, had become old and could be considered ‘retired’.

The 68-year-old senior Congress leader regretted the ‘highly-polluted’ political atmosphere, referring to the recent developments with the TDP MLA being remanded to jail for 14 days, allegedly for his role in the ‘cash for vote’ scam.

“It is sad people are being bought for money and in some cases coerced with political motives. We need to put a stop to this dangerous trend. I am seriously thinking whether I should continue in politics or not,” he said.

It is sad that people are being bought for money … I am seriously thinking whether I should continue in politics or not.

K. Jana Reddy,

Senior Congress leader.
