Police foiled a bid by the local BJP women leaders to disrupt the grand finale of the Futureall Miss Guntur-2015 held at the Siddhartha Auditorium here on Sunday evening.
Even as the programme was going on, BJP activists led by Sridevi, Anil staged a protest protested in front the venue and asked the organisers to stop the programme, saying that it was against the Indian culture. “It is a shame that State Ministers have accepted the invitation to be the chief guests in a beauty pageant in the cultural capital of the State. We will stop them from attending the programme,” said Sridevi.
Police prevented the protestors when the later were tried to barge into the venue and disrupt the programme. Later, they were taken to Pattabhipuram police station.
