Former Kurnool Mayor Bangi Anantaiah got his head shaved at the Collectorate protesting the rumoured closure of Anna canteens on Wednesday morning. Mr. Anantaiah sat down beside the Mahatma Gandhi statue near the Collectorate and shouted slogans while a barber shaved his head.

He criticised the YSR Congress Party government for the closure of Anna canteens all over the State. “The Anna canteens serve nutritious food for the deprived in the State,” he said addressing media persons.

He then praised former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for introducing the canteens and demanded that the government continue providing food to the poor of the state.
