With an intention to provide medical aid to all people in society, the State government is initiating a new scheme, Amrutha, under NTR Vaidya Seva Trust for destitute children.
The new scheme is under process, according to D. Ramakrishna Rao, Executive Officer (Administration), of the trust.
As part of his tour to listen to problems from doctors in government hospitals in the three north Andhra coastal districts, Mr. Ramakrishna Rao said that besides offering services under the trust, it was decided to provide cochlear hearing implants, each costing ₹5 – 6 lakh, free of cost to children below 12 years of age at the trust office in Guntur on every Wednesday.
In order to extend services to more number of patients and improve performance of government hospitals, the trust would provide equipment like CT scan, dialysis, ophthalmology units etc., through APMSIDC (A.P. Medical Services and Infrastructure Development Corporation) immediately after getting approval from the administrative council of the trust, he said.
As majority of people lacked awareness about the services offered by the trust, the Executive Officer stressed on the need to create awareness among them on cashless treatment offered to BPL and APL families.
He said the Chief Minister had already launched Employees’ Health Scheme for government employees and pensioners.
