The annual three-day International Islamic Congregation — ‘Aalmi Tablighi Ijtema 2018,’ came to a grand close near B. Thandrapadu, village on the outskirts of Kurnool, here on Monday.

The final day of the event witnessed the religious heads offering prayers for peace and well-being of people and the society on the whole, with emphasis on overall development of the State and the country. Deputy Chief Ministers N. Chinarajappa and K.E. Krishnamurthy, accompanied by Health Minister N.Md. Farooq, Kurnool MLA S.V. Mohan Reddy and others, took part in the programme and lauded the efforts of the district administration in making the event a grand success.

“It is good to see that not only the officials, but also the denizens have come forward to ensure that the event of such a magnitude goes on without any untoward incident. As many as 15 departments have come together and have put in their efforts with continuous review and good coordination,” they added.

The Ministers said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had expressed utmost importance to ensure that event was conducted on a grand manner.

Meanwhile, the transit points in the city swelled up with those returning to their native places after the three-day event. The roads leaving from the venue too appeared crowded as many began leaving after the event in their personal as well as private vehicles.
