Students of Aditya Institute of Technology and Management (AITAM)-Tekkali proved their mettle by making a smart helmet which functions with GPS facility and sends SMS alerts to family members in case of emergency. It also allows drivers to hear the external sounds unlike the conventional helmets. It provides clear vision in rough weather conditions too, according to the AITAM College Director V.V. Nageswara Rao.

According to him, it is helpful for women also as they can protect themselves by sending alerts to their dear ones immediately in case of emergency.

The smart helmet concept was given a rating of 4.9 out 5 in recently held Proto Model Expo in Investor Pitching at IIT-Guwahati.

As many as five students of Electronic and Instrument Engineering and Information Technology have done a research on the helmet and got the appreciation from IIT professors and others.

The students of the college have also assembled a robot which can dispose of bombs. The robot cuts the wires of the bombs once they were found.

In normal condition, Bomb disposal teams have to work in dangerous conditions. Sometimes, the bombs may explode during the time of disposal. The experiment of robot has got third place in ‘Nuke Off’, a separate competition held in IIT-Guwahati. Mr.Nageswara Rao and others congratulated AITAM Leadership Founder Sai Vijay and other students.
