Engineering students of Aditya Institute of Technology and Management (AITAM) proved their mettle by developing a gearless go-kart, which is normally used in large campuses of educational institutions and companies.

The go-karts help visitors move around the institutes at their leisure. They are mostly used in the U.S. and European countries for racing on scaled-down tracks. The drivers need not be professionals in driving. Many joint families also prefer to buy them to move freely in open areas.

Normally, a go-kart has a small engine with a gear system. However, AITAM students developed a gearless go-kart to help everyone drive the vehicle easily. Moreover, it is economically viable as each one would cost around Rs. 60, 000 only, according to AITAM director V.V. Nageswara Rao.

Under the guidance of Leadership Foundation head Sai Vijay, third-year mechanical students M. Vamsi Narayana, N. Manoj Kumar, M. Mohan Kumar and others developed the go-kart and displayed it in the technical festival ASPIRE 2k16 which was held recently in the college.

The students also developed ‘Indoshoppy’ app to help customers book groceries online. Normally, there is a tedious process to register the name, address and other details to book anything online. However, the new start-up helps to book essential goods without registration. The address which is given while booking will not be stored permanently, helping customers to protect their privacy.

A third-year computer science student, T. Kirankumar Reddy, said his team had taken three months to develop the app. He said Indoshoppy helps supermarkets improve their business by delivering the goods to customers who booked groceries online.
