Deputy Chief Minister N. Chinnarajappa, who also holds the Home portfolio, exhorted police officials on Friday to adopt problematic villages in the districts and develop them.

He said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s aspirations for development were bearing fruit in Kappatrala village in Devanakonda mandal, which was adopted by Kurnool Superintendent of Police Ake Ravikrishna. He was speaking after inaugurating the Zilla Parishad high school building constructed with Sarva Siksha Abhiyan funds to the tune of Rs. 60.50 lakh.

Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishnamurthy lauded the SP for developing a faction-ridden Kappatralla village by adopting it. “Mr. Ravikrishna’s gesture has proved that any goal can be achieved with determination and a strong resolve,” Mr. Krishnamurthy said and promised facilities such as a primary health centre, residential hostel and drinking and irrigation water in the village. The SP expressed hope that at least one student of the village would become an IAS or IPS officer. The Home Minister presented mementos to donors who helped in developing the village.

Kurnool MLC Silpa Chakrapani Reddy, Alur MLA G. Jayaram, Kurnool Range DIG B.V. Ramana Kumar, Joint Collector C. Harikiran, SP (Vigilance and Enforcement) Sivakoti Baburao, Additional SPs T. Chandrasekhar Reddy and Radhakrishna, former Minister K.E. Prabhakar, TDP leader K.E. Pratap, school headmaster R. Ramaraju, DSPs and local body representatives were present.
