Woman found murdered

A woman was found murdered in one of the TTDs cottages at Tirumala here on Tuesday.

On receiving the information, Tirumala police, who broke open the door, which was locked from outside, found the body in a highly decomposed state. The incident came to light after TTD employees complained to their senior officials about the foul smell emanating from the room at the TTD's free choultry.

Dharmapuri

According to the information furnished in the registers being maintained by the reception officials, the woman, who had identified herself as Jayanthi (35) of Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu, occupied the room on the 12th of this month along with six of her family members.

The TTD provides accommodation to the pilgrims atop the hill town only for 24 hours duration.
