Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer I.Y.R. Krishna Rao appears to have decided to focus more on meeting the requirements of devotees thronging the Lord Venkateshwara temple. He has started inspecting all the places atop Tirumala besides, holding regular meetings with the heads of various departments till afternoon before going to Tirupati to attend his day-to-day work.
Mr. Rao, who is known for his pragmatic approach to the problems of the devotees, was pained at the fact that despite the earnest efforts by the management the devotees were still facing difficulties.
Further, adding to the woes of the management, the devotees were continuously complaining about the TTD. With an intention to restore the good name of the TTD, which of late is mired in controversies, Mr. Rao had decided to concentrate more on the maintenance of hygiene coupled with enhancement in the production of laddus besides, bringing in changes for providing hassle-free darshan and accommodation facilities to the visiting pilgrims.
The management also on several occasions was rather forced to face the ‘wrath' of the pilgrims during the monthly dial TTD EO programme, be it for the lapses in proper regulation of the queue lines inside the temple complex or lack of minimum facilities at the TTD-run cottages. Taking optimum advantage of the modern technology, the devotees were also flooding the TTD with ‘mails' airing their views not only regarding the ‘inadequacies' in the administration regarding introduction of new systems but also the difficulties to which they were subjected during their visit to the temple town.
