Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham, who addressed letters to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, his son and TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh, and HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao on Friday on the reservation issue, has appealed to the Opposition parties to extend their support to the Kapu movement. Addressing the birth anniversary celebrations of former Minister Jakkampudi Rammohana Rao at his statue near Kambalacheruvu Centre on Saturday, Mr. Padmanabham said that he would not budge on his stand on reservation for Kapus, and sought the support of the YSR Congress, the Congress, and the Left parties.
He, however, left the place garlanding the statue of the late leader. Later, Jakkampudi Vijayalakshmi, wife of the former Minister, and sons — Jakkampudi Raja and Ganesh, all from the YSR Congress, along with party city convener and former MLA Rowthu Suryaprakasha Rao, participated in the celebrations and cut the cake.
They also distributed fruits and milk to patients in the government hospital on the occasion.
