VIJAYAWADA: Director-General of Police N. Sambasiva Rao on Thursday launched the refurbished website and a new Facebook page of the city police.

Citizens can browse www.vijayawadapolice.ap.gov.in to avail various services like checking the status of passport police verification, FIR and complaints registered at all city police stations and traffic challans. People can also access details regarding applications for various permissions and arms licences.

Interactive platform

While the website is hosted by the National Informatics Centre, it will be maintained by a team in the Commissionerate. People can follow the Facebook page which will be an interactive platform.

Addressing the media, Mr. Sambasiva Rao said that the initiative is aimed at providing friendly policing to the public as well as reaching out to all sections of people.

Commissioner of Police D. Gautam Sawang, DCPs G.V.G. Ashok Kumar, G. Pala Raju and ACP N. Sravani were among those present.
