With Cyclone Hudhud racing to hit Visakhapatnam on Sunday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has requested Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and the Central Government to provide satellite pictures of the area.
The Chief Minister has said that the satellite pictures of the area would help in speeding up rescue and restoration work for officials and personnel monitoring the situation.
Mr. Naidu has been closely monitoring the situation in the four districts of Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam and East Godavari to be affected by the cyclone.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao is holding a video conferencing with the Collectors of these four districts even as officials started evacuating people from low-lying areas.
