AgriGold Customers and Agents Welfare Association president M. Nageswara Rao on Monday said 112 deaths were registered as suicides, heart attacks and owing to depression in the multi-crore scam in the State. Mr. Nageswara Rao said there was likelihood of another 25 victims and the association was trying to check the veracity of the claims. “The State government gave four months time to pay the compensation to the victims and the deadline will expire on July 23,” he said. He said the government had put up 12 assets worth ₹80 crore for auction under court directions.

He said the association was conducting meetings at the real estate ventures with an aim to identity the genuine buyers. “If the auction is initiated, these people will suffer. We are making efforts to exempt these people.” The association was collecting documents for the purpose of presenting them in court to seek exemption.

Meet in Vizag

Mr. Rao said the meeting of customers and agents was being held in all the districts and in the neighbouring States too. “A meeting will be held in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday,” he said. He said though the CID was speeding up the proceedings, Avva Seetha Rama Rao, a director and a key player of the real estate business, was not arrested yet as he has connections with political parties. “The hundreds of the crores of properties of these directors are yet to be seized and there is every possibility of them making a kill by selling their assets,” he said.

Mr. Rao said the association leaders would meet AP Planning Commission Vice-Chairman Kutumba Rao and ADGP Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao and seek the appointment of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu either on June 28 or on 29.

He said the 13 directors of the tainted company would appear before Ongole court in July 4.
