Students of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) took out a candle march to pay homage to CRPF jawans who were killed in Sukma in a Naxal attack.

Condemning the attack, the AMU students’ union appealed to the Government of India to take “strong retaliatory action against anti-national Naxals.”

“We express our deep sympathies with the families of the jawans who were martyred in Sukma. But at the same time we strongly reiterate that the sacrifices of our soldiers should not go in vain,” the students said in a memorandum sent to the President of India.

AMUSU president Faizul Hasan demanded that the government provide ₹1 crore as compensation to the martyred jawans and ₹50 lakh to those injured in the Naxal attack.
