November 19, 2010 11:21 pm | Updated October 22, 2016 01:23 pm IST - CHENNAI:

The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has never expressed any opinion against the formation of a Joint Parliamentary Committee on the issue of 2G spectrum allocation, party president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi said on Friday.

In a statement here, he pointed out that the party's representative had said in Parliament that the DMK would support the Union government's decision.

Criticising AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa's stand, Mr. Karunanidhi said that in the beginning she had demanded only the dismissal of A. Raja as Telecom Minister. She did not seek the constitution of a JPC or Mr. Raja's arrest then.

The Chief Minister also pointed out that the Congress had spurned her offer of support to the Centre. He said his party and the Congress were having trust in each other.
