The Delhi High Court on Monday dismissed a petition seeking an inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation into the alleged proxy share of the former Union Minister of State for External Affairs Minister, Shashi Tharoor, in the IPL Kochi franchise, Rendezvous Sports World.

A Division Bench, comprising Justice Madan B. Lokur and Justice Mukta Gupta, dismissed the petition by advocate Ajay Agrawal stating that there was no merit in it.

The petitioner alleged that Mr. Tharoor had misused his official position to get sweat equity in the franchise in the name of his friend, Sunanda Pushkar.

He further submitted that he had reasonable apprehension that hawala transaction and black money had played a big role in the franchise.

Mr. Agrawal had earlier moved the Supreme Court with the same plea but later withdrew it.
