Lt. Col. Shrikant Prasad Purohit accused in Malegaon blasts has received documents related to his court of inquiry proceedings from the Army which are likely to help him prove his innocence.
Informed sources said that the documents were handed over to his lawyer Neela Gokhale.
Ms. Gokhale was quoted as having said that the papers were in respect of the registration of the sources and prove that Lt. Col. Purohit had kept senior Army officials in the loop on his intelligence activities. However, she could not be directly reached for comment.
This development comes after Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar had directed the Army to issue the relevant documents to help prove his innocence as claimed by him.
