Gunfight claims CRPF jawan's life

A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan was killed in a gun battle with Maoists at Navigaarh in Pananwa Tand area of Bihar's Gaya district on Tuesday, Superintendent of Police Ratna Mani Sanjeev said.

One Maoist, suspected to be a senior leader, was arrested and three guns were seized from the spot.

When a joint team of the police and the CRPF surrounded the area, the Maoists opened fire and CRPF jawan Sanjay Bhadra was critically injured.

He was admitted to a nearby hospital but he died there, Mr. Sanjeev said.
