The Delhi police on Monday raided the office and the residence of an IAS officer posted in the Home Ministry for allegedly leaking sensitive information.
Acting on a tip-off, the special cell of the Delhi police raided the North Block office and residence of Ravi Inder Singh, a 1994 batch IAS officer of the West Bengal cadre, who was working as Director in the sensitive Internal Security division of the Ministry.
“The raid has been conducted following allegation that he has been leaking sensitive information out of the Home Ministry,” Union Home Secretary G. K. Pillai said.
However, it was not clear to whom Mr. Singh was passing on the information.
In April this year, a senior IAS officer of the Gujarat cadre, O. Ravi, working as Joint Secretary in the Home Ministry, was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation on charges of corruption.
