The 14-year-old Dalit girl, who was allegedly kidnapped twice within a few months, raped repeatedly and tortured, died at the Max Super Speciality Hospital here on Sunday.
The girl’s parents and the Delhi Commission of Women (DCW) have quoted the doctors as saying that the “corrosive substance” she was force-fed caused several internal injuries that led to her death.
The police, meanwhile, are awaiting the autopsy report before they investigate further and charge the accused, who was arrested on Saturday, for abduction and rape. “We will request the Delhi government to constitute a medical board for the post-mortem,” said Madhur Verma, DCP (North).
The girl had been admitted to Max hospital after DCW chief Swati Maliwal intervened a few days ago.
The DCW also issued notice to the police over alleged “lapses” in probe.
The victim, the daughter of a security guard and a housemaid, was first kidnapped from outside her home in North Delhi’s Burari in December last year.
