A call to tap the artist in you

If you are between five and 15 years of age and have got art in you, the Small Hand Big Art initiative, in collaboration with the Lalit Kala Akademi, is calling for entries for its Art Olympiad 2015.

Powered by The Hindu In School and Young World, the Olympiad seeks to go beyond awarding winners, by giving them an opportunity to exhibit their works in art galleries.

A press release said the entries would be collected only through schools. The release said that awards and recognition would be given to 100 winners (25 in each age-based category) and the winning entries would be displayed in a premier art gallery. There would be cash awards.

The release said that schools could conduct an ‘Art Olympiad’ and send in works made during these sessions. The last date to receive the art works is December 10 and the results will be published on the website by January 15, 2015. By February 28, details about the winners will be communicated to schools and between March 1 and April 30, certificates and award cheques will be sent across.

The art exhibition and two-day workshop is scheduled to take place in May 2015, the release said. Those interested can log on to www.smallhandbigart.com for details.
