The Islamic State (IS) militants launched attacks on Sidra oil-port in Libya, killing one army soldier and injuring two, a military source said.
“The army guarding the gate engaged with the militants and killed four, among them some African nationals, before the militants attempted to detonate a truck bomb,” Xinhua quoted Ali al—Hasi, spokesman for the oil facilities guards, as saying on Friday.
Sidra, Libya’s largest oil port, was shut down in December 2014 due to armed clashes near the facilities.
