Savarayalu Nayagar Government Girls High School on Tuesday felicitated three SSLC toppers and 11 subject toppers. At least 20 sponsors including the faculty members awarded cash prizes to the students. A. Hemavathi, headmistress, said two private agencies awarded cash prizes of ₹10,000 each. Two school teachers presented wrist watches to the three toppers.
“The subject teachers presented cash prizes to the students who scored high marks in their subjects. They came forward to felicitate at least 20 students who had scored more than 400 marks,” she said.
The three toppers hail from economically backward sections. A host of trade outlets also chipped in.
