Heavy rain lashed the coastal town on Monday .
Though the season’s first rain undoubtedly brought much relief to the people from the sweltering heat and humidity, heavy wind and the downpour resulted in water logging in many parts of the town areas.
It caught the civic authorities unawares.
Normal life was thrown much out of gear and office goers had to wade through shallow waters.
