MP discusses village development plans with officials

Member of Parliament R. Radhakrishnan on Friday discussed with officials about the implementation of the village development plan with respect to Karayamputhur village adopted as a model village under the Prime Minister’s ‘Saansad Adharsh Grama Yojana’ (SAGY) scheme.

Mr. Radhakrishnan had adopted Karayamputhur, Chinna Karayamputhur and Panadayadikuppam under the SAGY scheme to transform them as model villages.

According to a release, the village development plan will be implemented using central and state sponsored funds. The plan covers broad indicators such as improving agriculture, health and sanitation facilities and overall panchayat infrastructure.

Development of village roads, quality improvement in health and education sector and creating employment opportunities are also part of the village development plan.

District Collector S. Sundaravadivelu and P. Parthiban, Project Director of District Rural Development Agency were present.
